Legal Question in Family Law in Ohio

Custody

I am a single mother with a one month old baby. a paternity test was done prior to birth. what are the chances of her father getting shared parenting? and at what age do I have to let her spend the night with him? he is not yet paying child support and there is no court order for anything thus far.

Re: Custody

Since the to of you have not been married, you have and will continue to have sole custody of the child, as long as you are not shown to be unfit and the court determines that it is in the child's best interest to be placed with the father. The court will set a visitation schedule. There is no hard and fast age when over nights begin. The child's best interest are paramount, so it will depend on the needs of the child and the relative maturity of the parents. Congratulations and good luck.

Re: Custody

An infant child normally stays with the mother. If you are truly concerned that you will be having issues with custody, you might want to work out a custody arrangement through the courts.
