Legal Question in Family Law in Ohio

medical POA

My mother is 83 and has the onset of dimencia. My sister and I had a medical POA for her, and then one day she called us and said she had changed that and given it to her lawyer. Now, she is in the hospital and we are being told we have no rights to any of her medical decisions. Is there anything we can do?

Re: medical POA

You could probably petition the appropriate court to be appointed as

her conservator which should give you the legal authority to void the POA to the attorney if the court appoints you to a conservatorship of your mother.
