Legal Question in Family Law in Ohio
Moving unmarried mother and child to another state
Mother has baby with a man she is currently cohabitating. The man is verbally and some times physically abusive. Only one incidence has been reported but police would not go any further due to lack of marks on mother. Child does not have fathers last name - has mothers but father did sign birth certificate. What legal rights does the father have to the child if the mother wants to leave him and move out of state with the child? Can the father prevent this or is the relocation petition that is mentioned in here be filed and the mother leave the state with the child and the father has no rights?

Re: Moving unmarried mother and child to another state
The Father has the right to file for custody and/or access, and has the right to ask the Court to not allow Moms relocation.
