Legal Question in Family Law in Ohio

Paternity Testing

My boyfriend and I had a baby but didn't get married. After a month my baby was born my boyfriend left and went to NC now my girl is one years old and he wants a Paternity test done.I asked him why and he saids cause. Is there anything I can do to stop this test? The notice says I have to have it done. He doesn't work so there isn't any Child support, so do I still have to give him Visitation? What are my rights?

Re: Paternity Testing

It is probably being required by Job and Family as a condition of your welfare. If he is found to be the father, he can move the juvenile court for visitation with the minor child. If he does, you will have an opportunity to ask the court to order him to find work. They will impose a child supprt obligation on him, if they have not already done so.
