Legal Question in Family Law in Ohio

Wanting fresh start with my kids.

I have a CPO on my boys father

and I was wanting to move to

another state where my boys can

get the help they need and it will

be a fresh start for all of us. I was

wondering how to go about doing it

and will the father be able to stop

me? With a CPO on him he has lost

his legal rights, so does that over

see the divorce paper's?

Re: Wanting fresh start with my kids.

You do not supply enough information to fully answer your question. Best advise is to confer with a lawyer and have the lawyer review the CPO and the custody decree. If you are divorced, there probably is mandatory language in your decree requiring you to provide notification to the court about a move. If there s no other court involvement, you can probably leave, but if a divorce is filed, you may have to return the kids to the jurisidiction of the court. Please call a lawyer. Good luck.
