Legal Question in Medical Leave in Ohio
job abandonment
I have M.S. I have been on the job for 4 yrs. My H.R. Dept. has all upto date documentation.I have been feeling pressure from my supervisor regarding job duties & performance. These ''charges''are retaliation for another issue. My question.Without prior notice I was asked to meet w/ my supervisor & H.R. Rep. I stated I have M.S. & was not emotionally set for this meeting & didn't feel comfortable.I was asked if I was refusing.Again I stated I was not feeling emotionally set & felt ill.Supervisor immediately stated she would not approved the absence. I informed her I was ill and needed to leave. I have returned to work & the meeting is still scheduled, now w/''job abandoment'' attached. Where do I stand. The office setting is so stressful. Emotionally, I can't take this. Does my FML cover my leaving work the other day?

Re: job abandonment
From what you have described, it is doubtful that FMLA would cover your leaving work. However, if you feel as if you are being retaliated against, you need to consult with an experienced labor and employment attorney to discuss whether you have some other claim.
