Abandoned Property
About two years ago we were asked to store furniture in our basement the person since then has made no attempt to claim or check on said furniture. any attempts to contact the owner have failed at what point does the ownership of said property transfer from the owner to us the possesors?

There is no bright line rule, but from the circumstances you've described, this would allow you to hold on to the property. You would deny the person's right to take the stuff, they would sue you and you would defend yourself with the doctrine of abandonment. Since they have left no forwarding address, and it has been a good long time that you've had it, you would most probably be able to keep the property. This is a court's decision, but you have good facts. I think it's your property.
