Legal Question in Immigration Law in Ohio
after marriage how long do we have before filing for a green card

If you are in USA and eligible for adjustment of status and not in removal proceedings, you can file at any time. Of course, it's advisable not to delay, as you might be out of status while waiting to apply for adjustmennt of status after marriage. Please keep in mind that being married to a USA citizen by itself doesn't afford you any legal right to remain in USA.

Note: The above response is provided for legal information purposes only and should not be considered a legal advice; it doesnt create an attorney-client relationship. If you would like to request a follow-up confidential advice on your specific situation and regarding U.S.A. immigration-related issues, we can offer a paid consultation by telephone or email to clients from all States and globally. The answer should be a question; are you eligible. Hire an attorney to ensure you are eligible for the status adjustment prior to preparing and filing anything with USCIS. There are simply not enough facts present for anyone to determine whether or not you are eligible.
