Legal Question in Insurance Law in Ohio

Michigan no-fault accident in Ohio

I was the lead car in a 4 car pile-up on the Ohio Turnpike. I was not at fault. two of the four cars received tickets for failing to stop. The third car in the line caused the first impact. This driver and myself are both from Michigan. I do not have full coverage and my insurance company won't cover repairs. They told me I needed to contact the at fault driver's insurance company. Because the accident happened in Ohio I am not sure if I will be able to get money for the repairs for my car. Even though the other driver was also from Michigan can i get her insurance company to pay for the damages to my car?

You need to contact the other party's insurance company, and/or consult a Michigan attorney regarding Michigan insurance laws. However, if you file suit in Ohio, you could recover the property damage from the negligent driver. Your question implies that you were not injured, which may make a difference to an attorney considering handling the case.

Good luck.
