Legal Question in Juvenile Dependency in Ohio
under age drinking at a party
my daughter was at a party this past weekend and had a drink of beer the police where called and there where no parents at the house the police officer didnt contact me or my husband they let her call her brother to pick her up then today we got a letter to take her to court what is her rights and what can they do to her

Drinking underage is a first degree misdemeanor with a possible jail time of 6 months in custody... This almost never happens, and in juvenile court there is something an attorney can do to have the case ultimately dismissed. You should have a lawyer to make sure the state is compelled to prove their case, and doesnt stand in the way of a good outcome.
