Legal Question in Medical Malpractice in Ohio
Statue of Limitations of Malpractice/Negligence
The birth of my oldest daughter was very rough & nerve-wracking. The day before I had her I went to the hospital with very heavy vaginal bleeding, I was a first-time mother, so when the dr on-call told me this was normal, I left. (My dr was on vacation.) The next day when I woke, my mother called the hospital back to tell them I was still bleeding quite heavily, the dr that was then on-call told her to get me back to the hospital ASAP, he then informed us I should have had an emergency c-section the day before, much less sent home, he promptly induced my labor setting a time limit that if I did not have her in, then a c-section would be done. I had my daughter at 7:12 PM vaginally. I stayed in the hospital for 3 days & then sent home. A month later, I started bleeding very, very heavily so I called back to the hospital & told it was probably my period, wait an hour & call back. A few min. later my mom arrived home, noticing immediatly it was not normal bleeding, called 911 & was taken by ambulance to another hospital where I underwent an emergency D&C for part of the placenta that was the size of a grown man's fist that had been left inside of me, turning toxic & poisoning my body from the inside out. I still have problems today.
