Air Force Enlistment Qualifications

Need to know what options are available to a person who wants to enlist in the Air Force, is not married, but is a father of a child out of wedlock. According to the recruiting officer, this person cannot enlist without legal documentation absolving his dependent status. Is this true, and if so, what can we do to obtain a waiver that satisfies the Air Force recruiting office?

You probably need to have the Air Force send you a copy of the regulation they are relying on for this requirement. I do not know of any requirement that your "dependent status" has to be "absolved." That is a really strange requirement.

Have them send you the regulation. The regulation should explain what is necessary, and you should be able to obtain a waiver form directly from the Air Force.
