Legal Question in Personal Injury in Ohio

Injury in a Walmart Store/ Feet Ran Over

I was shopping with my husband in a Walmart store last year when one of their employees ran over and crushed both my feet resulting in numerous damages to my feet and one knee. I am still being treated for it and was recently diagnosed with RSDS/CRPS Bilateral Feet and require surgery to stabilize my ankle. I have an attorney who has done nothing with my case. Nothing. How do I know if my attorney is doing their job? This injury has literally caused financial devestation to my family, and has nearly ruined my marriage. I am emotionall distressed overy everything, and have been living in constant pain for well over a year now. Please help! I don't know what my rights are, and my lawyer is being very closed-mouthed about the whole thing. What can I expect with a situation like this?

First, if you are unhappy with your lawyer, you should fire them. This case is about you and you should be informed every step of the way. Is it in suit now? If so, sometimes you can check the court docket on-line and see what is happening. Call around and talk to other lawyers... they can't advise you until you sever your relationship with your current counsel, but at least you'll get an idea of who you may be dealing with.... get comfortable with that person before making a change. I see that sort of thing all the time. Let me know if this helps.

Your attorney should be keeping you up to date on the case. Has a suit been filed? Have depositions been taken? Feel free to call me this week and I would be happy to discuss your case and your options with you.
