We are getting ready to close on refinancing of our home that we have been land contracting for 2 years. The questions has come up who is responsible for the conveyance fee. It is not stated anywhere in our land contract who is responsible for this. So my question is 2 part: What is a conveyance fee and who is responsible to pay that fee, the seller or the buyer?

The transfer fee is generally 4.00 per $1000 of valuation, although that may vary by county. If the contract does not address it, it is paid by the buyer.
