Lease option contracts

Can contracts that have ended be renewed after an eviction that has been resolved?He agreed to let me stay after we went to court. I had to pay what I owed, plus attorney fees.Instead of picking up where the contract left off, he is starting a new one for another year. Is it legal?

Yes, absolutely. An eviction cannot be filed without some breach of the underlying lease/contract by the tenant. Even if the eviction issues are settled, the original contract cannot be reinstated without agreement of both parties.
