no signed lease
I began renting a townhouse in October 2001, I never signed a lease and want to buy a house. Can I legally move out at the end of June?

You must givr st least 30 days written notice before you may terminate the relationship. A longer notice would be better for safety's sake.

Since there was no lease you are in a month to month tenancy. You need to give 30 days notice that you intend to leave. Once you do that then your tenancy will end at the end of 30 days.
