Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Ohio

How Can I Stop An Eviction

My Landlord is trying to evict me, although all rents have been paid and I have broken no laws. I was served a 3 day notice to pay 100o. I did (delivered to her lawyer on the 3rd day in certified funds) but a court date was set. She is behind on her property taxes. Can she evict with deliquent taxes? If I pay them, will the case be dismissed?

Re: How Can I Stop An Eviction

First of all, do you have a lease. If you do, the landlord can not evict as long as you pay your rent and do not violate any of the other terms of thelease. If there is no lease the landlord can give you notice to terminate the lease within 30 days and then the landlord can file the eviction once the tenancy is terminated.

Good Luck!
