Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Ohio

Changing trustee designation

I am the trustee of my father's revocable trust that was set up in 2001. Due to circumstances I want to be removed as primary trustee from this legal document. My father would never voluntarily have me replaced so I need to know what legal steps I need to take. Should I contact the attorney that drew up the original document or should I contact my own attorney due to a conlict of interest? There is an article 9, Successor Trustees, section B Resignation by trustee that seems fairly comlpicated meaning I don't think I could make this happen without legal representation. How complicated and costly do you think this could get? I appreciate any advise you can offer. With sincere thanks.

Re: Changing trustee designation

It shouldn't be complicated, although it depends upon what is written in the trust. Call your atty. and ask him or her to draft a letter of resignation or to give you instructions on how to do this.
