Legal Question in Family Law in Oklahoma

My husband hired an attorney and filed for divorce in December of 2005. I have not seen nor heard from him since that time. The divorce case is still open and pending. All I want to do is finish the divorce but I can't find anyone who can answer my question. I have been told that I need to write up a decree and a petition, and publish it, but I can't find anyone who can tell me how to do any of this, since he has already filed first. Please help!

If your husband hired an attorney and the divorce was filed, you should have a case number on his petition or summons for divorce. This case number can be used to retrieve a copy of your court file and/or find out the exact status of your divorce. Or, you can retrieve the case number and have your attorney finalize or refile your divorce.

If no judgment, summary or otherwise, is rendered; the divorce is non-contested, you choose to file Pro-se and you are in agreement with his petition and/or content, particularly, regarding community property, child support etc., you can consider use of his petition as an example or template for your own. However, the petition and summons must show you as the plaintiff instead of the defendant. Some court officials may provide guidance regarding proof of service and publishing requirements or they may refer you to any attorney or someone who can help you with others rules of civil procedure.
