Legal Question in Immigration Law in Oklahoma

I am a natural born American citizen. In July I married a man. I recently found out yesterday that he is an illegal immigrant from Canada and he obtained an illegal birth certificate and social security number in this country in the nineties. The name if his certificate does not match his supposed given name. Is our marriage even valid or am i at risk of being in trouble for his fraud?
