Legal Question in Intellectual Property in Oklahoma
Loose livestock
I have called our sheriffs department many times over the past three years to report one of the neighbors equines being loose and on our property. Because of the neighbors less than ''good'' behavior (Im worried what might happen when there is no one here at our house), I don't want to file a law suite against them-even though we have suffered property loss, i.e. horse feed and hay. What are my options? Does the sheriff have a legal obligation to keeping their animals away? It has become a safety hazard due to the animals being on the road and there are no equine coggins papers on these animals. I live in Atoka, Oklahoma.
Thank you
Maryanna

Re: Loose livestock
What are your monetary damages? Any other damages? You could send a demand letter (from your atty) or make claim vs. their insurance.
Otherwise you either have to sue or just complain about it.
