The commander at his base did not care even after recieving phone conversations with both Mds and faxed onfo from both Mds and is now considered Awol he is under heavy sedation with prescribed medications and is very mentally unstable and Im very concerned and do not know what to do Please help me as soon as you can with your advise.

Your son needs to return to military control immediately. He should have support during this difficult time. He can contact me if he needs help.
Re: My son went awol
This is a situation that can only get worse the longer he stays away. He needs to surrender to military control with letters from the doctors and he needs to ask for psychiatric evaluation.
Commanders in boot camp see every excuse in the world, and they are jaded. They are not likely to care about what a civilian doctor says. They only accept determinations by military doctors. The sooner he gets back to the military the sooner he can get seen and evaluated. If he stays gone more than 30 days it becomes desertion and it gets REALLY serious at that point.
Have your son return to military control right away.
