Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Oregon
A friend of mine left personal property at my home but will not pick it up. Several efforts have been made for dates and times when it would be accessible but she still leave it behind. It has been over 6 weeks. May I dispose of the times now since the value is under $300?

Send your friend a certified letter (so you have proof that you mailed it) stating that, if she does not pick up her property by a certain date (say 10 days later), you will discard it. If she later claims that you stole it, you will have the letter.
