Legal Question in Criminal Law in Oregon
felony conviction
i have a felony conviction that is costodial interference, and was told that it can only be a felony if you take the person out of state, other than that its only a misdemenor. what are my options of any expungements, or wrongful convictions on my behalf, or why was i charged with a felony instead ofa misdemenor

Custodial interference is either a class C felony or a class B felony. It is not a misdemeanor. It is a class B felony if the child is taken out of state, otherwise it is a class C felony. Some class C felonies can be expunged depending on the crime and on your criminal history. Class B felonies cannot be expunged.
