Legal Question in Family Law in Oregon
I was divorced in Idaho and now my daughter and are living in Oregon, is it possible to get her child-support etc. transferred to Oregon; because she is now 18 living on her own and going to college full time- according to Idaho papers he no longer has to pay child support because she is 18--but in Oregon as long as she is a full time student and under 21 she should still be able to get his support. Is there anything that I can do for her?

NO. Child support under Idaho law stops at age 18. In Oregon, it can continue until age 21 is between 18 and 21 the child qualifies as a "child attending school" under Oregon law. HOWEVER, Oregon has NO LEGAL AUTHORITY to modify and extend the duration of child support as established under the law of a different state beyond that which could be done in the "issuing" state itself.
In essence, Oregon cannot do what Idaho itself cannot (or will not) do.
So if you cannot extend an Idaho support obligation beyond age 18 through through the Idaho courts, then you cannot do it through through the Oregon courts.
