Legal Question in Family Law in Oregon

I signed an agreement with my lawyer for a certain amount up to trial. We have not gone to trial yet and he has told me that he is going to need more money or he will have to drop my case. Is this legal?

The agreement you signe with your lawyer means what it says and says what it means. And, yes, what you lawyer is now doing is legal. Immoral, unthinking, greedy, stupid and a whole lot more, but perfectly legal. Tell the lawyer you need your file as you are now discharging the lawyer and will get someone else to finish the job.
