I am on visitor visa from india, and have 10 years multiple visa. how do I apply for extension for my stay as in one time I can stay upto 6 months

Your authorized period of stay is noted on the card I-94. It's usually up to 6 months.
An application to extend status, I-539, is filed with the USCIS with all supporting documents and explanation of reasons.
