How long does it take to get to trial after a car wreck?

That's not a simple question. It varies a great deal, depending on the severity or complexity of the case (they need more contiguous days, takes longer to carve out); it depends on which county. Plus, there have been cutbacks in court staffs around the country. I read an article the other day that, due to budget problems, CIVIL cases can expect to take five years to get to trial in San Francisco. It's not THAT bad here, usually.

You should talk to a lawyer in person about whatever case you're thinking about. There are always applicable time constraints, so that you could lose your rights if you wait too long.
