Legal Question in Workers Comp in Oregon

Work related injury rights

Can I be comensated for the 7 scars i now have on my wrists from surgery?

Can I look for another job, being they aren't giving me work? If so, would that hurt my W/C claim, or release my employer of any responsibilities they may have?

Am I entitled to any money for my injuries? For example: I had a torn cartlidge in my wrist repaired, and a bone taken out of both thumbs and replaced with a ligament taken out of my forearm.

Re: Work related injury rights

If you can prove through medical opinion that the scars interfere with function you can be compensated for scarring. Normally cosmetic scarring will get you nothing under the workers compensation law. If you can perform your work demand your job back in writing. If you arn't returned to work you might have a discrimination claim. If you want to go to work for someone else it is not likely to hurt your workers compensation claim; although you might waive some employment claim rights.
