Legal Question in Business Law in Pennsylvania

taken care of family member

My friend lives with her grandmother and takes care of her. Her family members do next to nothing and she is afraid that she may have to leave the house when her grandmother dies. Right now the house is in the grandmothers name but it looks as though the Aunt has Poa is there anything she can do to keep the house when her Grandmother passes?

Thank You!

Re: taken care of family member

The grandmother must make a new will or sign over the property to your friend. Suggest you consult an attorney. If she becomes incapicatated, your friend will have no right to the property. Be prepared to establish that the grandmother has sufficient legal capacity to sign a will or deed in the event such transfer or will can withstand a legal challenge after her death. Independant witnesses or a videotape of the signing can provide protection.Other heirs might claim the grandmother was unduly influenced by your friend. Gerald Hershensn Esq. 215-579-9390
