Legal Question in Business Law in Pennsylvania
Exempt/Non-Exempt
I was switched from being an exempt to being a non-exempt employee. Recently we have learned that our call center is closing and that severance pay is being given according being an exempt or non-exempt employee. I believe I was misclassified as non-exempt, but my employer says that they have no legal obligation to make anyone exempt. Is there any way I can change my status because the difference in severance is significant?
