My father passed away recently. He left several shares of stock to 6 people. How long does it take to transfer stock from his name to our names?

Sorry about your loss.

Did your father do this through a will, trust or other contract?

It will take a little longer if a will needs to be probated, a matter of a few weeks if a trust or contract and depending on the speed of the transfer agent.
