I am being sued for a rejected commerical printing job
I am being sued by a commercial printing for rejecting a print job. The job in question was orginally estimated at 3900 the job once printed came in a 7900. Although we were told of some modifications to the job we were never quoted a new price. We also never signed a contract or anything authorizing this new price increase. After the print job was completed half the printed pieces were printed with the wrong colors. two other pieces were printed out of register(off center) and the colors varied from piece to piece. Because of all this we rejected the print job. I was told I have right to do this from mulitple design firms. It has now been 5 months and I just received documents that I am being sued for the full amount of the job(7900) even though nothing was ever delivered or corrected. Do they have a chance to win?

Of course they do, that's why they are suing. That's why you need and attorney. I'm not saying that they will or are even likely to win, but it is possible.
You may be correct that you could reject the job. Hopefully you did it in a defensible manner. These matters are decided by the contract and where there is no written contract then the law fills in the gaps.
A competent attorney can help with the matter. It will involve a fair amount of work and will depend on a number of factors. From the understanding of the parties to the laws and possibly the Uniform Commercial Code. The UCC must be reviewed to determine whether the agreement was for services or goods. If it was for goods then we can use the UCC to guide you actions. It printing is a service then your actions will be governed by statute and precedent.
Hopefully you have saved examples of the defective product and have documentation of the material defects. It will also be necessary to show that you "covered" the default by procuring your brochures from another source.

The sooner you retain counsel the better off you will be on this matter. Let me put it another way, if you don't do anything, I guarantee you will owe them the 100% of the amount they are demanding!
