Legal Question in Consumer Law in Pennsylvania

new car return

I got a new car last tuesday..8/28/07.. I was tricked into a lease. I call crystler and they say my paperwork has not come thru and I have only been approved for my credit app.. I'm not in the contract yet. They say I can return the car.. I go to the dealer and they say they refuse to take the car back. They have a no return policy.. I asked to see it in writting. And he said it does not exist in writting. The car only has 50 miles on it and has been parked in a locked fence all week. Crystler also said I have 30 days to return. All I want is to get out of a lease I did not want because I wanted to buy, and not have any marks on my credit for returning it. I'm at a loss.I also belive they put faulty information on my credit report. I dont make alot of money, but I also pay for a 06 dodge, and a 05 harley. I dont even know how I was approved for a loan like this since just paying for 3 cars leaves me with 200 a month. That does not include my insurance, gas, food, rent, etc.. How can they get away with that?? Can you help please?

Re: new car return

That certainly doesn't sound right. First, it's always wrong to "trick" anyone into debt. Second, there are numerous laws prohibiting an oral consumer lease agreement. Third, if the main office is telling you there's no deal and you can return, they're likely right.

Here's a couple pieces of advice:

(1) Don't do anything with the car. Keep it protected, safe and undriven.

(2) Call Chrysler and alert them to the problem. Ask for an address to write a followup letter to them, and then do so. Make a copy of what you send them.

(3) Mail a similar letter to the dealer informing them that you do not think you have a contract, that you believe they deceived you, that the car is available for them to collect, and that payment is not forthcoming.

(4) [You knew this was coming] Get a lawyer. You may qualify for free legal services at Community Legal Services -- see http://www.clsphila.org/Content.aspx?id=174

If not, there are a number of attorneys who might be willing to help you for free.
