Can the parents sue? Anybody can sue anyone at any time for anything. That does not mean that person suing will win.
Read the loan documents. Is this joint and several liability? What that means is that the parents can ask you to pay the whole sum if you and/or your boyfriend are jointly liable. If the boyfriend has not paid his part, you can drag him into any lawsuit or you can pay for the whole thing and then sue your boyfriend for his share.
If you are only liable for 1/2 of the loan and you have paid your share, then the answer is no.
Did you keep proof of payments? Did you pay your part back within the 6 months? Again, if the answer is on and you are jointly liable with your ex-boyfriend, then you probably can be sued.
