Re: corruption of minors

You have to always treat charges seriously, but, they have to PROVE you did certain things, and here I don;t have the charge, but it has to include PROVING beyond a reasonable doubt, that you conerced a 17 y.o., that you KNOW does not have a DL, but who IS old enough to get a DL, to violate the law and take a car w/o permission. Were there any witnesses to the conversation before she took the car? In any event, it is a very weak case, with a girl trying to blame someone else, for a stupid decision. She may be afraid to show she was lying at this point, so don't count on her confessing!

Yes, you can be held for court. The standard at the preliminary hearing is very low--based on the information that they have, is it likely that a crime was committed, and if so, is it likely that you were connected to that crime. Based on your friend's statement against you, that's enough to hold you for court.

You need an attorney. Now. Don't delay. Corruption of minors is a very serious charge. Don't even think of going to the hearing without an attorney.

You didn't say where you were located. Email me if you wish to discuss further. I'm in western PA.
