Legal Question in Criminal Law in Pennsylvania
megans law
a few yrs. ago i was charged with unlawful imprisonment/endangering the welfare of a child. i pleaded guilty, i served my time and maxed it out. i am not on probation or parole. i was living in ny and visting my girlfriend in pa on the weekends. while i was out there, there was a domestic dispute, the police were called and i was arrested for public drunkeness. they believe that i've been living in pa for 2 mo. and failed to register under megans law. the only thing is i wasnt living there. now my public defender is telling me if i plead guilty i will recieve 3-7 years. if i take it to trial and lose, i'll recieve 7yrs and up. with regards to megans law, i wasnt arrested for rape, or anything like that. is there anyway i can get this off my record, because i am not a convicted sex offender, there was no sexual act in any way. please help

Re: megans law
Were these offenses in Pennsylvania? Because unlawful imprisonment and endangering the welfare of a child are NOT Megan's Law offenses in Pennsylvania. So, if these were the charges you were convicted of, you are NOT covered by Megan's Law.
It seems to me that if you're covered by Megan's Law, you were convicted of something other than what you're saying.
