Legal Question in Criminal Law in Pennsylvania
nominal bail rule 600 -180 day release
my son was locked uo in a small county in Pennsylvania..They never
sentanced him and he was released on 1.00 nominal bail..
he was told he is on call and his trial will be within the next 90 days..
His attorney is court appointed and is not really helping him. Is it true
that because they did not sentance him they must drop the case,or do the courts still have the right to continue this case??

Re: nominal bail rule 600 -180 day release
The way I read rule 600 is if the defendant is out on bail the time limit is 365 days. The 180 day rule applies if the defendant is in jail awaiting trial. At that point they must reduce bail.
