My twenty year old son go a violation 6308. He is at school in PA, which is four hours from our home. He delivers pizza to support himself. He has never been in trouble before. Should he get a lawyer?

Absolutely yes because a conviction will remain on his record AND he will lose his driver's license. You did not say which county where he received the citation. There may be a first offender's program available to him
