Legal Question in Criminal Law in Pennsylvania

If the victim of a crime doesn't show up to the preliminary hearing and hes the only witness, what are the odds of the case being thrown out? If the alleged victim comes to court the day of the hearing, how does he withdraw the charges to have it thrown out?

Usually, depending on the county, if the victim does not show up to court several times the district attorney will throw out the case.

If the victim does go to court and talks to the district attorney about dropping the charges, he/she [district attorney] will likely get throw out the case. However, it depends on the type of case.
