Legal Question in DUI Law in Pennsylvania

DUI Related Death, Civil Suit, Financial Garnishment

A close friend of mine went to prison for a DUI related death. He'll be in for about three years. He is now been sued by the family of the victim. They are also suing the bar he was at before the accident. Can the family have his wages or bank accounts garnished? This occurred in PA and all involved were/are PA residents. What CAN they do to him? What can they do to the bar? Can the bar come after him?

Re: DUI Related Death, Civil Suit, Financial Garnishment

If the family obtains a judgment against him and it is in excess of his insurance coverage, they can execute against any property he owns that is not exempt, such as bank accounts, automobiles, boats, etc. It is unlikely that the bar would go after him although I suppose a claim for indemnification or subrogation is a remote possibility.
