Legal Question in Family Law in Pennsylvania

Betrayed

my boyfriend and i had twins. he walked out on me and the babies. he later remarried and had two children. the twins are now 28yrs old. he did pay child support. he walked out on us when they graduated from high school and refussed to pay any more money to us. he always promised the boys and i that he would take care of me, because he told me never to work just stay home and raise the kids. now i have nothing in pension. he is a very wealthy doctor. he paid for his other children's college and bought each of them houses in their college towns. he is now saying i have no rights to what he promised in my retirement or helping the twins to repay their student loans. I have gone back to college and I am out on disability as a teacher. i have tons of student loans and no pension because i was home with the kids for the last 20 yrs. he must have had this plan to punish me all along. his wife writes me nasty letters. the boys can swear to the fact that this was his promise, over and over again to help us. can you tell me what to do? he is living in ct. i live in pa. the boys are living in ca. Is this a case for family law or civil law or anyone who can help us.

Re: Betrayed

The time to file for child support was back when he walked out on you.

The one theory on which you might recover is that he made a contract with you. The problem with that is that the statute of limitations for contract claims is 4 years. So that expired a few years ago.

If you have any questions feel free to contact me. The initial consultation is free.
