Legal Question in Family Law in Pennsylvania

Name Change / Support

6 months ago, my ex had a baby boy. At the moment, her current boyfriend is paying child support because he was believed to be the father. her boyfriend signed the birth certificate, and the child has his last name. after this 6 month period, it was determined that he wasn't the father, so i took a DNA test, and i am the father. I am now paying support, but my child still has her boyfriends last name, and is still on the birth certificate. can i get his name changed, and my name on his BC, and if not, should her boyfriend continue to pay for the child, since he claimed paternity ?

Re: Name Change / Support

You will always be responsible for this child child's support. You can go to court to have the child's name changed but you will have to show that it is in the child's best interest.
