Legal Question in Family Law in Pennsylvania

child custody unmarried parents

two unmarried individuals living together, father threatening to take child and obtain custody. mother has no monetary resources to obtain lawyer or stop father from leaving the home with the baby. police have allowed him to do so saying he is also the parent. what can the mother do. she also cannot move as she has no resources. what are her rights and can the baby be removed or some order stopping him from removing the child from the home. he has phoned the police when she ran two blocks to pick up her son at school and her 10 year old child had to stay home a few minutes as she was too sick to take out. police said they had to write up report. i think father is trying to establish that she is unfit. how can you help...

The status quo alone would give her a primary right to the child. No money see legal aid in your area, by calling the bar association. All attorneys participate in volunteer work as part of our ethics. We get our cases from legal aid.
