child custody

my 4 year old sons father made alagations about some sexual isues he thought was happening and now children and youth came to my house to investagate now they want my 4 year old son to talk to a detective is it legal for someone to talk to our son without one of us being present?

Re: child custody

Both Children & Youth and the police have the right to interview victims alone.

The only reason that you or the child's father would have the right to be there is if the child was suspected of committing a crime. Because he isn't they can and it would be inappropriate for dad to be there as he is making the accusations. It would also be inappropriate for you to be there as you might be the one being accused.
