Legal Question in Family Law in Pennsylvania

Daughter's Rights

My grandsons father recently pled guilty to a sex offense and was convicted. He is still going back and forth to court for his sentencing phase. I have been telling my daughter to get a job or get on welfare to help her take care of the baby. (He is 1 1/2 year old and my daughter is 20) She claims that he has threatened that he would file for custody of my grandson if she applies for welfare and child support. My question is what rights does she have?

Re: Daughter's Rights

If he is in jail he's not going to get custody. The first thing your daughter needs to do is to get a custody order. It will make getting child support easier. As well as establish her custody rights.
