Legal Question in Family Law in Pennsylvania

defys divorce agreement

My wife and I came to an distribution of property agreement before a master. It was agreed upon by both parties and recorded (court reporter) part of this agreement was I was to obtain refinancing for our home and pay her off. Having done this, she refuses to sign. I 'm on the loan agreement as the only borrower, however she must sign as the co-owner of the property. I am to write her a check and she will have herself removed from the title. her laywer is tring to get her to sign with no luck. my window is closeing soon on this loan. Can I file a petition of contempt. I am working pro se. Any advice would be helpful.

Re: defys divorce agreement

You are correct. If she is defying a court order the way to force her to sign is via contempt. Make sure one of the "prayers for relief" you make is for a court order that turns over title to you if she won't sign. I offer free consultations.
