Legal Question in Family Law in Pennsylvania

Emancipation

I am a 16 year old female with the posibility of starting college a full year early due to my grades and the amount of credits I would need to finish highschool.Having said that,My parents are trying to keep me from doing so. My parents also wont let me get a job but I am very willing to work and have filled out many applications but my parents refuse to let me hand them in. I have readied myself for college and gotton most of the work towards that completed. I have my own bank account and a couple thousand in it. I also have people willing to let me live with them until I get a job and find an appartment of my own to reside in. I have a car but unfortionatly its in my parents name and i dont know if I'll be able to get the ownership transfered over.

I would greately appriciate it if you would be able to tell me how to get started considering I currently dont have an income. But I do have people willing to take guardienship of me until I do.

Re: Emancipation

Congratulations on doing well in your school work.

I know the town you live in, I recognise the zip code as I used to live there.

Emancipation is a big step and you might succeed that said, I would still look to compromise. I don't know if your parents are college grads or not. Even so they may be apprehensive about letting their daughter go away to college at 16. Perhaps you can convince them to let you go to a local college and live at home. I happen to know there's a college that is close to you. Maybe even closer to home than the high school you attend now.

Doing this might be with in what your parents could be comfortable with. You'd be at home every night. The school I have in mind is not a party school. That said it might not be your first choice for college but it lets you start college and gives your parents some comfort level that you can handle college. Then when you're 18 you could transfer or not. However, with some track record they might be willing to let you transfer after two years. If not well you would be 18.

If you have any questions feel free to contact me. The initial consultation is free.
