Legal Question in Family Law in Pennsylvania

Paternity Acknowledgement fraud?

In 1996, a girl accused my husband of fathering her son.The child was born severely disabled and is collecting SSI.The girl said that in order for her to get SSI, my husband's name needed to be on the birth certificate. He never went to the hospital to sign the acknowledgement form, but he is named on the child's BC.How do we get a copy of the BC and the Paternity form? And how can we prove that it was forged? There is no child support order so how can we go about getting a DNA test?

Re: Paternity Acknowledgement fraud?

To prove the form was forged an expert witness in handwriting and/or document examination will be necessary. If she has not claimed support your best bet may be to let sleeping dogs lie. A birth certificate can be obtained through department of vital records. If your husband is listed as father he should be eligible for copy. Otherwise a suit can be filed and a subpeona issued.
