Legal Question in Family Law in Pennsylvania

For purposes of equitable distribution purposes, my understanding was that the effective date for valuation was the divorce filing date. The date of my divorce filing was Aug. 25, 2009. I received conflicting answers to this question: 1: date of divorce filing and 2:date of settlement

My divorce was filed in Pennsylvania.
